In August 2020, specialists from NBI JSC successfully completed the implementation of an information and analytical system for automating and supporting energy sales activities in the wholesale electricity and capacity market for "VO Technopromexport" LLC.
The main purpose of the system is to improve the efficiency of the Customer's power plants by automating the loading, storage, accumulation, and analysis of information provided to wholesale market participants.
During the project implementation, the following tasks were set and successfully solved:
1. Automatic data loading:
- Loading data from 10 sources;
- Loading over 140 reports;
- Storing all information in a single repository.
2. Automatic calculations:
- Performing key calculations for operations in the wholesale electricity market;
- Performing calculations based on changes in source data for any time period.
3. Analytical reporting:
- Implementation of over 100 reports;
- External analytics to improve responsiveness to market price signals;
- Accounts receivable control to identify unreliable counterparties more efficiently and reduce the time for preparing claims;
- Restricted access to information;
- Distribution of operational reports on daily activities.
4. Commercial dispatching:
- Monitoring of dispatch schedules to minimize deviations;
- Quick calculation of deviations for the past period;
- Monitoring of branch operations.
During the project, experts faced difficulties such as:
- Formation of the Customer's IT infrastructure and changes in internal business processes;
- Extended timelines for integration with external systems due to technical complexities and organizational structure specifics;
- Coordination with subcontractors working at the Customer's site.
Nevertheless, the full functional scope was completed, and the project was finalized.
Customer: "VO Technopromexport" LLC specializes in turnkey construction of energy facilities, including hydroelectric, thermal, geothermal, and diesel power plants, transmission lines, and substations. The company also modernizes and reconstructs existing energy facilities, provides comprehensive post-warranty maintenance, supplies equipment, constructs industrial and infrastructure facilities, and produces heat and electricity. The company manages operations in the wholesale electricity market at its own power plants in Crimea.
