In December 2019, NBI JSC specialists completed the replication of the optimization system at the generating facilities of TGC-1 PJSC based on the EMAS.OPT software product. The project included an additional 4 new power plants: CHPP-15 Avtovskaya, CHPP-17 Vyborgskaya, CHPP-7 Vasileostrovskaya and CHPP-1 Tsentralnaya.
Project Objective:
The implementation of the information system is aimed at improving the efficiency of the Customer’s generating units in the wholesale electricity and capacity market (WECM) by achieving the maximum possible marginal income in the production and sale of electric and thermal energy.
Result: the Customer gained the ability to plan and maintain the optimal operating mode of thermal power plants (TPPs) in various sectors of the WECM based on the criterion of maximizing marginal profit.
During the project implementation, 4 new digital models of TPPs (digital twins) were successfully developed, as well as functionality for calculating technical and economic performance indicators (TEP) of generating equipment and forming price bids for the day-ahead market (DAM) in accordance with the Customer’s internal regulations.
Customer: PJSC “TGC-1” – the leading producer of electric and thermal energy in the Northwestern region of Russia. It unites 53 power plants in four constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Installed electric capacity is 6.95 GW, and thermal capacity is 13.75 thousand Gcal/hour.
The generating equipment operating mode optimization module enables the creation of digital technical and economic models of power plants (digital twins), which are used for various calculations, including solving the task of optimizing TPP operations.
The creation of digital power plant models is implemented based on unique solutions of the generating equipment operating mode optimization module “EMAS.OPT” by JSC “NBI”.
